Overview
About Me
Hello! I'm Mehmet, a US federal government engineer with a passion for the great outdoors. Residing in the picturesque Pacific Northwest, I find myself constantly inspired by the beauty around me, which fuels my love for photography. My weekends are often spent exploring hiking trails or chasing the perfect ski slope, embracing every moment of adventure and tranquility that nature offers. My engineering background not only reflects my problem-solving skills but also my creativity and attention to detail – qualities that I bring to every aspect of life. In my downtime, you'll find me experimenting with new photography techniques, reading about the latest technological advancements, or planning my next outdoor escapade.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I joined Couchsurfing to connect with like-minded individuals who share my enthusiasm for travel and cultural exchange. My journey is not just about exploring new places, but also about building friendships and understanding diverse perspectives. As a host, I offer a warm, welcoming space and a chance to explore the hidden gems of the Pacific Northwest. As a surfer, I'm eager to immerse myself in local cultures, learn from my hosts, and share stories of my adventures. Whether it's a night discussing our favorite travel experiences over a home-cooked meal or a day out capturing the beauty of nature through our lenses, I look forward to the shared experiences and lasting connections that Couchsurfing brings.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I enjoy a mix of genres, from the classic rock of Led Zeppelin to the contemporary beats of The Weeknd. I also appreciate instrumental and ambient music, especially when editing my photographs.
Movies: I'm a fan of both thought-provoking films and action-packed adventures. Favorites include 'Inception' for its mind-bending storyline and 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty' for its blend of adventure and stunning visuals.
Books: I gravitate towards both fiction and non-fiction. 'Into the Wild' by Jon Krakauer resonates with my love for adventure, while 'Sapiens' by Yuval Noah Harari feeds my curiosity about human history and evolution.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Last year, I completed a solo backpacking trip through the Cascade Mountains. It was a journey of self-discovery, resilience, and awe-inspiring views that deepened my connection with nature.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I can share my photography skills, from capturing stunning landscapes to editing photos for that perfect finish.
Learn: I'm always eager to learn about different cultures, cuisines, and languages. I'm particularly interested in learning how to cook traditional dishes from around the world.
Share: I love sharing stories of my travels, engineering projects, and insights into the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer an engaging conversation, a fresh perspective on technology and engineering, photography tips, and perhaps a mini-tour of the best photography spots in the area. I'm also happy to cook a meal or two, sharing some of my favorite recipes.
