Overview
About Me
Since Covid-19 pandemic concern everyone around the world, we are fully vaccinated since March 2021.
Mehrnoush
Currently, I am a Ph.D. in Neuroscience, teaching and doing research at the University of Oklahoma. (http://www.ou.edu/cas/biology/people/graduate-students). I past my childhood in Zagros mountain (Isfahan). After I finished my Bachelor's degree, I moved to France and I finished my M. Sc. degree in a multidisciplinary program including food safety, microeconomy, and Plant genomics. During my master's program, I became a specialist in wine ranking and professors taught us how to make wine as well. I met my husband(Olivier Rey), who is a French gentleman, in Toulouse when I was studying for my master's degree.
Olivier
I have been doing many things in my life but since we are in the USA, I have focused on improving my pastry skills. I went to follow an intensive training with a Pastry Master Chef in France during the summer of 2022.
I actually provide homemade pastries at the Norman Farmers Market.

We both love traveling, photography, cooking and baking new recipes from different countries. As a biologist, I love nature and my husband and I love to hike in nature to discover the new and unique areas in each state. We are open-minded people and like to meet and talk about different cultures including traditional costumes, music, dance, food, believes, traditional social games, and activities in nature. We traveled to a lot of countries and have several friends around the world (Japan, China, Europe, Africa, Asia, north, and south America). Olivier and I were living in Toulouse and Paris (France) for a while and then we decided to come to the USA for continuing my studies. In 2015, we arrived at Norman and in 2017, I start my Ph.D. in neuroscience.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Mehrnoush
I always was a curious child who was willing to know the new world. Knowing new people, their food, language, and culture is such a great adventure for me. I love to discover the world through the eyes of different people. Therefore, I found Couchsurfing a great way to reach this goal. By sharing our place, food, knowledge, and experiences with each other, we could simultaneously become a better person and make the world a better place to live.
To date, I lived in three different continents and I learned that people's race, color, and language never could be a barrier for socialization and humanity. No matter what country we come from, we have a similar definition of kindness and the humanity that could link all of us together.
I think couch surfing and meeting people with different ideas, cultures, and language make me closer to what I need to accomplish, before leaving this world. I hope I could do the same for other people as well.
In one sentence: I'm on Couchsurfing to meet open-minded and colorful people to make my life dance in all seasons.
Olivier
I am always happy to meet new people. I think people interaction is what makes life exciting.

Mehrnoush
I am a decent cook and I could teach you the cuisine of different countries such as Persian, French, and some Japanese, Libanaise, and Italian food.
I know the medical plants and I could teach you how to use the plant as a magic ingredient in your food to live healthier.
I can teach you about neuro-hormones in your brain and some animal's behavior such as Owl, Bats, and weakly electric fish.
I can teach you Persian culture.
I could teach you to write your name in Persian calligraphy.
Olivier
I can teach you anything you want to know about French culture, especially food!
We could share a room, with a shared bathroom with Couchsurfers.
We will share our experiences and stories from traveling to different places.
We would like to learn about your life experience and hear your stories.
We would like to learn a different language and dance in your country or city.
We would like to learn surfing, golf, climbing and fishing.
We would like to learn tips about leadership in business if you have this experience in your life.
We are open to learning anything that makes our life happier, brighter and more exciting! ;D
What I Can Share with Hosts
We could cook for the host or bring a bottle of wine or pastry for them if they wish. We can also help clean the dishes in case they cook for us.
We could share stories about our various life experiences.
We could play social games.
We could go out together. (hike, bike, bar...)
If you would be our host for our trip, we ensure that we would have lots of fun together sharing our personal experiences and stories from our trips to other countries and the USA. I will ensure to respect your house rules and be a respectful and pleasant guest.
