About Me

I have never Couchsurfed before but am keen to make it happen for my future travels and adventures. I am very fortunate that my current work allows me to travel for extended periods. I am an off-site design engineer.

After finishing my school, I travelled to New Zealand for my bachelors in engineering. This was first overseas travel which opened my eyes to new cultures and places. I saw a huge positive change in me which included learning to network with new people, understanding new cultures, exploring new cities and managing my life independently. There I travelled across the length and breadth of the country and had a wonderful student life.

After my bachelors, I worked in India but soon realized that staying in one place is not for me. I like to think of myself as a global citizen. I lived in Scandinavia for masters, which gave me an opportunity to combine studies with exciting outdoor activities. I especially learnt the beauty of silence in Finland.

I am a positive person who likes to explore new things. I know how to stay calm in adversity. I love travelling, sports, and hiking. I am a great cook, at least so I am told. I am interested in nature and the environment. I am spontaneous but am mindful of my actions. I love to learn about places, people and cultures. I am good at keeping places clean and tidy. I am a vegetarian and try to be vegan as much as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think travelling is the best way to understand how the world functions. It is very important to get to know new cultures and people in this modern day of globalization. Through Couchsurfing one can make friends with the locals which is a huge advantage, especially to know the hidden gems of the city. Getting to know the locals of a place is very important to me.

Interests

I love outdoors, badminton, biking, music, cooking, networking with new people and travelling. Professionally I am interested in mechanical, thermal and composite engineering.
