About Me

Hello! I recently graduated from the University of Nevada with two degrees. I'm working to take a break from my career and instead join the JET Program teaching English in Japan! I absolutely adore travelling and meeting new people. Friends around the world are incredible and I just love sending letters and care packages. I love being able to open my mind and really dip my feet into other cultures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is a way to combine two of my favorite things in the world: Travelling cheaply to see brand new places/countries and to make amazing, lifelong friends! I realize some friendships may be fleeting, but almost everyone I have stayed with/met I've still been in contact with. Life is way to short to not explore everything and see the world!

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a huge fan of Yellowcard, Ed Sheeran, Beyonce, One OK Rock, RadWimps, and lots of video game/anime music. Some of my favorite movies include: Bloodsport, Kimi no Na Wa (Your Name), ANY Hayao Miyazaki movie, and Pokemon! My all time favorite books are The Shadow Children Series, Harry Potter Series, Vampire Academy Series, and House of Night Series. This is an extremely short list, so please don't think that I don't step outside the genres seen here. I am actually very diverse and eclectic in my tastes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've studied abroad in China for 8 months and learned to conquer my fear of heights! Outside of Xi'An is Huashan (Flower Mountain), home of the "Most Dangerous Plank Walk In The World". I went there with a group of friend and stood on that plank, on the side of a mountain, looking over a 2,000 ft drop, and watched the sun rise over the bonzai trees. It was a very magical moment for me and it allowed me to see that I can really overcome my mental blocks is only I want them bad enough. Anything is possible.
