About Me

**If I sent you a request on CS, be aware that I make the time and effort to read your whole profile and did my best to make the message as personal as possible!**

Hi there!

My name is Mei and I am travelling to Portland and Seattle from the 21st to 28th of April and looking very much forward to this trip and all of the experiences coming with it! I have never been and am looking forward to it:)

A little bit about me:
I am currently on an exchange semester in University of Waterloo, while usually studying my master's in environmental engineering at the Technical University of Denmark. I work with product sustainability in a Danish company and an aspiring bartender on the side. Furthermore, I am working as a volunteer in Engineers without borders on a project with plastic waste collection in Sierra Leone, Africa😀

As a person I am very friendly, openminded and curious. I love meeting new people and experiencing new things. I am polite, funny and empathetic.

I am not hosting at the moment, since I am living with roomies who have not yet been convinced of the Couchsurfing spirit at home. ':D I have hosted 2 awesome guys from Norway before. However, they weren’t able to give a recommendation, because it was not scheduled in the Couchsurfing calendar ;)

Even if you are not able to host, please share your best places to visit!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet and experience the real culture of a country and all of its best gems - and the best way to do it is by meeting and staying with locals or meeting up with other interested travellers!

The first time I tried it was in Auckland and I loved it!
Being able to share food, experiences, housing, culture, stories, jokes etc. is amazing - and it is a bit more laid back and relaxed compared to staying at hostels and hotels.
It is AWESOME to meet locals and get the very best travel advice from experts!
When I get my own place, I will start hosting and give something back!
