About Me

Born and raised in the outdoor town of Bend, Oregon! Moved to Florida for a BS in Marketing and Spanish. Then I moved back to Oregon to work for a year before I got restless again and moved to Sweden for grad school. While at Lund University I took every opportunity to explore Europe, and maybe skipped a few classes in order to make that happen...But hey, I still graduated! After Sweden I moved back to the US and currently work at a startup company in Bend. When I'm not working you'll find me skiing, hiking, mt. biking, swimming in gorgeous (freezing) mt. lakes, or trying to learn some new skill. Currently looking for an international PhD program to investigate the psychology behind gen z's perspective on relationships as the first fully immersed digital generation (critical theory based). May or may not stay in the US, who knows!
Once I figure out the PhD thing I plan on travelling for a few months around Asia and South America! I'm a mix of driven and focused, but I'm super fun and have a good time. I also really enjoy showing people around Bend who are just visiting. I'm very tolerant and laid back with other people's cultures/ backgrounds, and views, and I'm fine with leaving you alone to explore on your own, or happy to show you around and hang out with you! Super grateful that I grew up in such an amazing town and very proud to be from Bend. Although I believe it's important to get out and explore other places, get out of your bubble, and meet new people!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people and get a local perspective when I visit a new place! I love the attitude of couch surfers because they are people who are more about experiencing life instead of stressing out about materialistic things. I also enjoy having friends from all over the world and learning about their cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books

My spotify is the most random thing you'll ever see! I like all types of music; classic rock, american/ Latin pop, alternative rock, rap, reggae, Spanish guitar, Alt J, The Beatles, Ariana Grande ;). The song "To Be Human" by Marina is the ultimate couch surfers song- definitely check out the video!

I don't have much time for TV, but favorite movies would be Singing in the Rain, Catch Me if You Can, Three Amigos, Will Ferrell movies, ExMachina, and the old Star Wars movies. Books: Sapiens has some interesting facts, but it's a dense read!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Only one!?? Road tripped from Florida to Oregon for two weeks and stopped at a few great American landmarks I'd always wanted to see along the way. Also studying in Sweden was THE BEST- highly recommend Scandinavia and I may have to live there again some day.

Teach, Learn, Share

I take every experience as a chance to learn, even if it's out of my comfort zone. I believe that being pushed outside your comfort is the key to success in life. Adversity is a terrible thing to waste! Currently becoming fluent in Spanish, learning guitar, trying to get better at golf and tennis.
If you come to Bend hit me up for a great outdoor adventure buddy! I'll show you the best breweries and hikes. Always looking to meet new people and show them my amazing hometown. I'm great at baking but also health and fitness...I can make you an awesome dessert or cook a healthy meal.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a good listener and a good cook/ baker, (and cleaner). While I make you a delicious dessert feel free to tell me all about your relationship issues and I'll give you amazing advice haha! I'd love to share travel stories and advice in all areas of life. I'll gladly try to teach you English, or a few Swedish phrases as well.
