About Me

Hey there! My name is Mel .
I am a girl – maybe I should start calling myself a “young adult” – who has lived so far in four countries within three continents and I have visited 22 in total (Last updated: August 2017). Born and raised in a Latin country by a family with European origins. Not completely from here, not completely from there… but going everywhere.

Hotelier. Traveller. Adventurer. Organizer. International. Outgoing. Openminded.

Feel free to check out my instagram @melsmapamundi - or my blog www.melsmapamundi.wordpress.com for an insight about my life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to meet new people who like to collect memories, not things.
I realized that I'm afraid of not being fully alive... so I like to go places, meet new people, try exotic international food. I want to have good stories to tell, good memories to play in my head when I'm old.
Home is not a place, it's a feeling. The international atmosphere is where I belong.

I cannot host, unfortunately, and even though I travel often, I have stayed in hostels most of the times, I am trying to stay more on CS now. Even if I stay in a hostel, I try to meet CS people to go around town, have a coffee, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen and done so many things. But depends in you if you find them amazing or not. I've eaten lunch under a bridge in Venice, I've hitchhiked at 3am in Amsterdam, I've climbed the sculpture at Montserrat and almost got fined, I've gone on a boat under the Iguazu waterfalls... I just grab my backpack, my passport and go. Of course it is nothing compared to what other people have done, but we all lead different lives.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach- each of us decides what to learn from the people that come our way. Everything happens for a reason, after all.
Learn- I like learning. I like being a student. And if I can learn anything, it is appreciated!
Share- special moments, laughter, joy. Time is the only thing we cannot get back, make the most out of it!

What I Can Share with Hosts

A completely silly and fun chat over a cold beer, or a meaningful conversation over a warm cup of tea. I can tell you stories about what I've done and what I've seen, but I would like to hear your stories too.
