About Me

Hello! My name is Mal. I moved to the UK couple of years ago and like everybody here I love traveling. I believe that one day in other places gives more than ten years of life at home. I want to meet people likewise and explore the world together. I've lived in some countries ( mostly for work). In my free time love to explore local life, people, museums, theatres, concerts, cuisine, languages, and the history of every country I visit. To know more about me, you may check my Instagram page: @phdlifedaily

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

From my own experience, I know when people are traveling without a tour, It is hard to navigate in the city, find the proper place to spend time, see the most significant places, explore what locals do, eat, and think, etc. So I am here to help those who arrive by showing them around the city, sharing stories about local life, giving the right tips, sharing food if needed, and meeting new people worldwide.

Interests

I love visual art in my free time, exploring museums, and drawing. On weekends love hiking in London or outside of it. I like to try different types of cuisines, including street food. My hobbies are playing tennis, going to the theatre for opera, and reading historical books.

Music, Movies, and Books

Classic music, Jazz, Blues, Pop, Oriental music, Instrumental, Falk music. In love with Andrea Bocelli, Frank Sinatra

Books: Poetry and non-fiction historical books

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

First experience of meeting couch surfers in Edinburgh.
Celebrated one of my last birthdays alone in Batumi city centre( Georgia) under the rain with a cup of tea and chocolate mouss.
Supervised nine university students for a summer internship in an Indian hospital in Gurgaon, India.
3 hours waiting for the panda coming out, sitting on the floor of the Edinburgh zoo:))
I got on the space mountain by mistake in Tokyo Disneyland and survived! (first space mountain experience :)
I walked to Seokguram cave temple in Kyondju, which rests 750 meters above sea level on Tohamsan mountain, South Korea.
Overcame an evacuation from the typhoon in Okinawa island;
Had lunch in a company of primary school children served by themself in Tarama micro island, Japan.
I have seen one hour night blooming of mango flowers during the full moon on Miyako island, Japan;
I jumped over the walls of Petergoph (Saint Petersburg) museum with local Spb folks:)
Whirled the cycles by night in Moscow city on a sports car at high speed.
I celebrated my 18-year-old birthday in the UK, far from my family, surrounded mostly by unknown people from around the world, whom I met first time in my life, at the table with Uzbek plov. The moment I have probably realized that uzbek plov unites the nations:)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach to cook uzbek and russian food, exchange tips and stories about countries which i have visited, show London hidden natural places.

What I Can Share with Hosts

City tour, helping with tips about traveling routes within London. London is a transit city, so i used to meet lots of friends who come to London for couple days and i am becoming an expert tour guide within a city. haha ( kidding!:) I can help to get purchases by reasonable prices, sharing food and i may arrange master classes in cooking of a national food.

Countries I’ve Visited
