About Me

•Distance Runner• World Traveler• I'd almost always prefer to be hiking or exploring anywhere I've never been before •

My motto? Be critical, open minded, free thinking. And if you believe in something, don't just talk about it-go out there and fight like hell to make it happen.

Like many folks here, I believe the things we see and the people we meet,(both locally and abroad), define us as individuals and shape our worldviews. We live in a time when those connections are more vitally important to the state of the world then ever. That's one of the reasons why I think we should never stop exploring, listening, learning, and reaching out to others around the world.

****I'm new to the couch surfing community, but I have plenty of references through Airbnb if you hang out there at all. Please also feel free to Facebook or Instagram stalk me if you want to see what kind of human I am first :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe that the true purpose of travel is meeting the people who live and work in the places you are only passing through. It's the connections we make with individuals around the world that make us both individuals and actors in the broader global communities that we live in.

My favorite memories are always of the friends I make and the people I meet rather than the places I see. I also believe that travel should be affordable to everyone...couchsurfing has made that a reality for me as well as many others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My husband and I rode our bicycles across the United States the summer of 2012. It's a little over 4,000 miles and it took us 3 months. We camped and couch surfed the whole way (via Warm Showers, which is couchsurfing for cyclists).

It was our first big trip together, and we were just dating at the time. We got engaged on top a 14,000 ft mountain in Colorado the month after we got back :).

What I Can Share with Hosts

Both my husband Jason and I are adventurous, active, outgoing people. We are both academics and activists, and love good discussions about anything and everything. Jason loves to cook, and we are both happy to help out in any way needed!
