About Me

Masters's Candidate in Government and Homeland Security with a specialization in Cyber Security. My research focuses on a country's capacity for resilience and self-determination, when faced with international crisis, as well as military strategies to counter threats.
Through my studies and travels internationally, I am versed in various cultures and can say with certainty that I have a passion for the world and its people, coupled with an expertise in communication both verbally and in writing.
My greatest aspiration is to one day hold the title of United States Ambassador.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am living in Israel for one year to finish my Master's Degree. It is a central location for travel, and I would like to see as much as I can. While Couchsurfing is extremely affordable, it is not the main reason I am considering it for accommodation. Couchsurfing gives me the chance to see the authentic versions of each city I am blessed to visit.

Interests

I work out everyday (either a run or fun youtube video).
I work out so I can eat whatever I want... I love food.
And wine. I studied wine in Italy, and it is the fruit of the gods.
Avid reader (from the nerdiest biographies to interesting fiction).
International politics/relations. People, cultures, places, foods, architecture- the world is a blast to discover.
I haven't been everywhere, but it is on my list.

Music, Movies, and Books

Country- I'm obligated being from southern Louisiana. I also like classical and jazz. It never hurts to also be abreast with the contemporary stuff.
Roman Holiday, Gladiator, Emperor's New Groove, Lord of the Rings, Serendipity. Interesting variation, I know. I am also always a fan of black and whites.
A recurring theme, is that I like the classics. I read everything Jane Austen has ever written. With grad school I read numerous volumes on history and policy, but for me, books are meant for escape. I like the ones I can hardly put down.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Canyoning in the Swiss Alps. I love adventure. And being able to throw myself down a waterfall in one of the most beautiful places on earth was absolutely breathtaking.

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe in God. My Christianity has kept my focused on my career and the more important things in life.
While I am very focused on my future, I also live in the present and try to never take myself too seriously. If an opportunity presents itself, I will usually take it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My mom taught me how to cook very well. I enjoy cooking, and I enjoy learning if you would like to teach me your specialties.
Not obsessive compulsive, but I am very clean.
I'm a great listener, and your story is interesting to me.
