Hello world! I'm Mel, 21 years old and originally from Nuermberg, Bavaria in Germany. At the moment I'm doing a gap year in New Zealand till next August doing some volunteering work at the Riding for the Disabled, following my passion.

First and foremost travelling means to me getting to know the lovely locals of the country I travel to with all their facets.
I'm always keen for good and interesting conversations, lot of laughter and new impressions. A country has so much more to offer than the touristy mainstream - it just can be understood and fully experienced by getting to know it's people. And so far I had the pleasure to meet some amazing personalities thanks to Couchsurfing!
