Hi I'm Melanie!

I was born and raised in Los Angeles and am now currently going to school there as well. I've always been a super curious and introspective person with a desire to travel and see the world.

I'm a very very very chill and laid back person. Super clean and tidy as well. I study accounting and finance so I love structure and order but there's also a part of me that loves to be creative. I've always been into the arts since I grew up dancing and drawing.

The part that's always enticed me about traveling is being able to experience other people's cultures. I am someone who is pretty in tune with my own culture which is why I feel like CS will allow me to get the real authentic experience to whichever place I visit.

I'm a super private person who's always steered more on the "safe side". But since studying abroad in Italy this past summer I've done things I've never thought I'd do and met people so many great people along the way. CS seemed like the next step so here I am!

Music: I listen to a wide range of music!
I love R&B (Kehlani, H.E.R., SZA, Ella Mai, Daniel Caesar), EDM (Illenium, Yellow Claw, Party Favor, Louis the Child), some rap (Amine, any Bay Area artists, YG), pop, old school hits (Stevie Wonder, The Beatles), and podcasts!!

Movies: I'm more of a TV show person but if I had to choose for movies it'd probably be Back to the Future

Books: anything from young adult to fantasy to business

If I'm being honest, I'm young and I haven't seen nearly as much as other couchsurfers on here. However, I've always been told I'm incredibly good at listening (part of my job literally requires me to just listen to others). That being said I would love to hear your story and I'd be more than happy to take any advice about life and traveling in general! If you speak another language different from me or if you're fluent in one that I'm trying to learn I would also love to practice/learn with you!
