About Me

I'm still figuring it out.

I love to learn and discuss ideas with people. I enjoy hiking and gardening and I'm trying to improve my skills in both of those areas. I'm extremely interested in community development and psychology. I love cats and dogs equally. I am about halfway through my Bachelor's degree. I love listening to music and being around people who make good music. I am a (very) amateur photographer and I love exploring and taking pictures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to explore the west coast before I head back to school and this seems like an awesome way to connect to people and travel. I am about to finish a term of service with AmeriCorps NCCC in the Pacific Region. It's been an incredibly eye-opening experience and I want to re-explore some of the wonderful places I visited while serving.

I don't have any permanent home right now so I can't host anyone, unfortunately. But as soon as I have space, I plan to share it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Ishmael, A Walk Across the Sun, Stranger in a Strange Land, Hard Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World
Music: There isn't much music that I don't love. I'm pretty partial to The Offspring though.
Movies: The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, Leap Year (yes, the terribly cheesy rom-com that most people hate), Hot Fuzz

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My team and I learned about proper trail building after hiking 4 miles into Bald Rock Canyon in southern Utah. We worked with the UCC to restore parts of the Rainbow Bridge Ntl. Monument trail, which hadn't had a team work on it since it was built in the 1930s. It was a bizarre and amazing experience.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can make a mean french toast.
I can share laughs and stories and adventures.
I'm still figuring out what else I can bring to the table, but I am always happy to help people out in any way that I can.
