Hi, I'm Meilan from Bonn, Germany, where I am really enjoying being a student :D
I live in a shared flat with 3 roommates who have become three of my closest friends, and couldn't imagine living by myself anymore. I love experiencing strangers becoming friends, and I am thankful for all the people who helped me feel that I was not alone when I was far away from home.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In 2017, while I had been living in Shanghai, I did lots of travelling in China. I was so impressed by all the strangers who granted me great hospitality or simply kindness, like villagers who offered meals, taxi drivers who shared their stories, or people in cars who offered me a ride when I got lost (weirdly, that happened to me a lot haha). I think we need to step out of our comfort zone to experience such amazing things, and sometimes we need to remind ourselves to do this. CS is a great opportunity to step out and meet different people.

Interests

My dream is to travel from Xinjiang, China to Kirgistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan and go hiking in the Pamir mountains. I would love to talk to you, if you have travelled those places and can share your experience with me!!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Trying to travel to Mongolia from China by bus without a plan (I am still wondering how me managed to arrive)

- I have studied Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture in Shanghai and I fell in love with that city
