About Me

In February and March, I am traveling with my roommate Nic in Australia and New Zealand. We are both Queer and are both Celiacs. We are not dating, though our mothers think we are. We love (gluten-free) food, wine, nature, Lord of the Rings, swimming, day hikes, dancing, and hanging out in pubs for a glass of cider or a whiskey. Clubbing, while fun, is a very rare occurance for us. We live in Oakland, CA and both lead Segway Tours in San Francisco, so we love hearing history and do not mind looking like nerds.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love getting to meet new people from other parts of the world. I have had such wonderful experiences on CS and am still in contact with some of the people. I love seeing the world through a local's eyes.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love most kinds of music from Johnny Cash to Regina Spektor, with an emphasis on indie rock. I have a special weekness for 1990s and early 2000s R&B and hip hop. I like movies that are well acted and well directed. Plot and characterization are far more important than cool special effects to me. My favorite kind of books are fantasy/science-fiction (like Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy) and memoirs (like those by Augusten Burroughs).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Got a lecture on acting from Alan Rickman. I almost died.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach people about different kinds of dance, theatre, and gluten free cooking. I love to share music with people.
