ABOUT ME

very easy to get along with. friendly & personable, like to meet new people, tend to stay busy with a variety of activities - anything from quiet at-home stuff like arts & crafts to going out to eat or to a cafe...or a concert. i really enjoy traveling when i can, even if it's just driving a few hours away. have a broad range of interests and finding new things to enjoy all the time.

PHILOSOPHY

ah...hm. live and let live..?? try to be open & accepting to all, even if it's a long stretch from the way i live my life. try to actually become interested in lifestyles and/or personal views and respect them for what they are, even (and especially if) they are vastly different from my own.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

so far, just getting started - checking out the site and think it's a great idea. i LOVE traveling but the expense is always the biggest thought. like the idea of traveling cheap to concentrate more on the enjoyment of the experience than the money.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

only a bit here and there. stayed with "friends of friends" years ago when i was in the middle of a move and the move-in, move-out dates didn't line up quite right. was always grateful for the charity of others.

Interests

lots of stuff! anything art & craftsy...calligraphy & the art of writing letters, knitting, jewelry making, beading, etc. reading, movies, music, going out to see live shows, festivals, etc. being out in nature, hikes, walks on the beach, concerts, sniffing out the good deals. chatting with friends over a beer or cup of tea, letting the hours fly by. food & cooking are a consuming passion...beware - i can talk about that forever!

Music, Movies, and Books

books - so much stuff. sci-fi & fantasy, COOKBOOKS!, "soul food" type books (spiritual, philosophy, etc.), any books that teach me about something new, interesting biographies, thrillers, mysteries, some horror, some romance. love comic books - esp. Xmen & Spiderman. music - celtic, world music (anything different), punk, rock, ska, lots of stuff. i love movies - favorites include thrillers, good dramas & mysteries...it's nice when you can't see the end coming. oh, and i really love the comic book flicks.
