About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to live as many different lives as possible, meet as many folks as I can and document it all. I am currently planning an epic cross-country journey to Portland then down to LA, flight to Paris, flight to Morocco--all ridesharing and couchsurfing.

ABOUT ME

I am a runner. I read tech news all the time. I believe loving is what life is about. I care deeply about my family. I do yoga. The Internet is one of the most important parts of my life. I love art. I love wine. I love beer, especially double IPAs. Halloween is probably my favorite holiday. Thanksgiving is also amazing. Autumn, in general, is amazing. I am a California girl at heart, though I have spent most of my life in the Midwest, South, and East Coast. I really like taking photographs. I like having a routine and having regular haunts. I like good chocolate. I like to cook but don't make anything fancy these days. I recently graduated university. I love Twitter. I like meeting new people but cherish those special friends who stay in my heart no matter where I go.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that though there is so much to take in and process in the world and so much to think about and so much to do, ultimately, my life is about love--true love for myself, for a partner, for my family, and for that world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like to host and to show people my hometown. I find couchsurfing to be one of my favorite ways to travel.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had consistently wonderful couchsurfing experiences. Through couchsurfers, I've found the best simple homestyle breakfast in DC and felt how the warmth of a friendly conversation in a foreign land can brighten my whole day.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like high-low stuff. I love everything pop culture. I watch Korean dramas. I also love experimental films and music. And I like everything in between. Hedwig and the Angry Inch makes the top of my list. I grew up on Tori Amos. Hmm...basically I like any song I've heard more than once. I read less books these days and more blogs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was completely astounded by how beautiful Iceland was. Just being there made me feel so alive and so peaceful.
The sky at night in South Dakota was almost painfully gorgeous. It was like star soup--I felt like I could reach out with a ladle and scoop some up and drink them.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to share my knowledge of good restaurants or places to go in different cities. I don't know if I have any cool skills to share...I run and love to go running with other people to get to know them. I love to share beer recommendations. I'm pretty addicted to the news and social media and can always offer recommendations of people to follow on twitter or blogs to read.
