About Me

HAPPINESS [is] ONLY REAL WHEN SHARED!

ABOUT ME

Well … My name is Oliver or like all my friends say Olli. I’ve got shoulder length brown hair, am 186cm tall and I grew up in a small town with 22.000 people but I moved to Cologne because I’m studying sport sciences at the German Sport University Cologne.

After I've written my Abitur in summer 2008, I did my social service) in a school for handicapped children and travelled through Australia, Singapore and Dubai.

Since you know that I’m a sport student you can imagine that my main hobby is sport. Actually I like pretty much every kind of sport but my favorite one is the long distance or endurance run. That means I enjoy running marathons (42,195km) and ultra-marathons (everything that is more the 42,195km).

When it comes to alcohol, cigarettes and drugs you should know that I am straight edge (XXX). In other words I neither drink any alcohol nor I smoke or take any kind of drugs. You don’t have to share the same point of view with me but you should accept and tolerate it at least.

PHILOSOPHY

HAPPINESS [is] ONLY REAL WHEN SHARED!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Since I travelled across Australia and Singapore and surfed so many couches from differnt people I would love to give a bit of this friendliness back to other travellers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Every CS-experience is a unique adventure and a great experience.
Surfed couches in Germany, Dubai, Singapore and whole Australia!
Now it's time the host people!

Interests

If you read the part about me I’m pretty sure you recognized that I really love to do sport especially if it’s outdoor like running, climbing, surfing, biking, geocaching and all that stuff.
Furthermore I am collecting DVDs and my collection is about 300DVDs big. So if you like to watch a good movie with me and my flat mate you’re more than welcome to join us. ;-)

By the way … I am an adrenalin junkie and I really love the feeling when the adrenalin is floating through your veins.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really like to listen to metal and country. But I also like 80s and 90s a lot. It depends on my mood and the people around me. Usually I can party and dance to pretty much every kind of music except rap.
I’m pretty tolerant to nearly every other kinds of music and can accept it without loving it!

Movies … as you know I’m collecting DVDs so I can’t say which my favorite movies are. Of course there’re better movies then others like The Shawnshank Redemption, V like Vendetta, Fight Club and Into The Wild but in to be honest there are too many freaking good movies to count all of them.

Books … I read quite a few books but the best book I’ve ever read is probably Ultramarathon Man from Dean Karnazas. I can’t tell you how or why but this book motivated me to run distances I never thought I could run.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think one of the most awesome moments in my life was when I finished the marathon in Hamburg in 2011 with my best mate Axel. I used to train with him for nearly 2 months just for this one day … I pushed and motivated him to keep on running and finally he did it. I will never forget this smile on his face.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you how to do the Rubik’s Cube or I could give you some advice about running, losing weight and good nutrition. Moreover I could show you some self-defense skills like judo and kung-fu.
