About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Would love to show people around my city

ABOUT ME

I teach and love it. I also work with Aborigines here in Western Australia, having started an educational exchange programme. Into reading, watching good films (generally not big Hollywood blockbusters), go out in my gorgeous city a lot with great friends. This city has the BEST bars and restaurants.... lots to do. I hang out with my dog and talk to her often (if only she could talk back..). Care about what's going on in the world.

PHILOSOPHY

I think we are here to try and make this world a better place. I think I do some good things by listening to people, having varied friends and contacts. I try and help those less fortunate if able. Being open minded is the best thing anyone can try to be.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is new to me, although I have made friends with Germans I met here who ended up staying with me 3 days, then I went there and stayed with them last Christmas. They have become great friends and I loved the experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - varied - Jet, David Gray, Bob Dylan. Depending on the mood, it can be anything.
Movies - Lost in Translation, In America, All About my Mother, Brokeback Mountain, Japanese Story. Anything that makes me think, feel and ponder life.
Books - The Kite Runner, Helen Garner - this is too hard! I need much more time to compile a list!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Have lived in Iceland for a few months - what scenery!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can observe and read people quite well (that comes with being a teacher). Can talk about novels and what they impart to me. Also know a little about Aboriginal Australia - but that is also a life of ongoing learning.
I want to know ANYTHING about other countries.

Countries I’ve Visited

Czech Republic, France, Germany, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Singapore, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, Iceland
