About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live and Experience

ABOUT ME

I'm a 25 year old Australian girl who has just arived back in Australia (very unexpectedly) after more than 2 years away. I spent most of that time in the UK, living and working in London, but spent the Summer months travelling around Europe, and at the start of December, moved to Vancouver, Canada.

Now, I'm back in Oz, in my home town of Melbourne, and I'm itching to be travelling. Alas, I need to stay here for the time being, helping out my family and getting enough cash together to finance the 'next big trip'.

PHILOSOPHY

Treat others as you would like to be treated.
Listen before offering your own opinion.
Just because someone disagrees with you doesn't mean they are any less worthy of your time and respect.
Try and go out and live your life, achieve your dreams, be happy and healthy and leave a positive imprint on the world. It's not too much to hope for is it?!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment, I don't have a house of my own, so hosting is out of the question. I'm more than happy to meet people for a drink or to give you a tour and a taste of the best city in the world, Melbourne.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couch-surfed in Italy and had some AMAZING experiences. The people I stayed with opened their doors and their hearts to me, and I had a phenomenal time exploring their cities with them.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading. My favourite book is Dirt Music by Tim Winton, but also I love Knockabout Girl, a memoir written by an Australian girl who spent a year working in the Australian outback. I am so jealous of the stories told in Almost French, by Sarah Turnbull and Under the Tuscan Sun, by Frances Mayes.

I listen to a wide variety of music, but I have an awful lot of Australian music: rock, pop, folk, indie and alternative on my ipod. It gets a workout!

My favourite movies are ones with generally happy endings. If I can't get it together in my life, I might as well watch someone else be happy! I also have a soft spot for the intelligent kids' films, like Chicken Run, Shrek, Monsters' Inc etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Camped out under the stars for the Anzac Day dawn service at Gallipoli; visited the Taj Mahal at sunrise; participated in a traditional Indian wedding; found my great great uncle's WWI grave in a cemetery at the Somme; driven the Great Ocean Road; skiied through the eucalypts; hiked the Milford Sound
