I grew up in a coastal city in Ecuador, my dad is a farmer and my mom is an excellent chef. I have four sisters and two dogs. Right now I am living in Quito which is a beautiful city surrounded by volcanos (one currently that is very active).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because it is a wonderful way to understand the places that I'm visiting through the eyes of those who live there. Cities are more than just buildings, they are people, feelings, histories and I think that through couchsurfing I can discover that while sharing what I know.

So far my couchsurfing experience is limited, I have met some couch surfers in my city and have hosted a couple of people (who were amazing) but I would love to engage more in it.

Interests

I am really passionate about nature, I am vegan and I am always looking for ways to leave a positive imprint in the world. I love riding my bike, wherever I go I try to do activities related to the bike and here in Quito I am always engaging in women empowerment through the use of bikes. Cooking for the people I love and care is something that I enjoy also I don't mind cooking non-vegan meals. I try to grow my own food in my garden, so far I have a lot of fruit trees, veggies and medicinal herbs. Finally I love working in empowerment and education in the water arena, I work in the paramos which is an amazing high altitude tropical tundra ecosystem, if you come to Quito you will drink water because of it.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love world music, there are no boundaries, but if I have to choose I love cumbia, salsa, rock, heavy metal, protest music, indian and sometimes electronic. My favourite artists are Mercedes Sosa, Lila Downs, Magic System, Amy Winehouse, Bomba Estéreo and Ana Tijoux.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Biking around Nepal! It was a physical and mental challenge, but also it is a different way to interact with the surroundings.

I can teach you a different perspective of my country, specially in environmental and water topics, which are my thing. I can help you with your spanish and recommend places you should visit in the countries I have been. I can share a delicious vegan meal or teach you some salsa steps.
