Overview
About Me
I'm of the healing variety, and have recently relocated to Hartford, CT to pursue my dream of opening a health and wellness center. I'm blessed to have the opportunity to do that now, and even more fortunate to actualize this dream with my partner too.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm a noob to couchsurfing. I met Jason and Lee at their 6th annual Couchsurfing cookout in East Haddam last weekend, and have been converted into a believer. I have always stayed in hotels and motels while traveling, as Hospitality was my passion in a former life. Hearing about Jason's experiences and the cultural exchange that is possible through couch surfing has peaked my interest, and convinced me that this is an avenue of travel that needs to be strongly considered.
Interests
I enjoy cooking, reading, hiking, kayaking, dancing, laying out on the beach, chocolate, unique/mind-expanding films, and expanding my knowledge/ understanding of the healing arts of my culture (East/China) and my land (West/USA.) I practice Qi Gong, and train in Wudang Style Tai Chi and Kung Fu. Although my training routine has taken a back seat to opening our Healing Center and studio these past few months.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: My taste in music changes depending on my mood, although lately I've been listening to a lot of zen, relaxation, calming, massage-y music lately. I'm a fan of Michael Jackson, Radiohead, Balkan Beat Box, Miss Tess, the Bird and the Bee, The Knife, Franz Ferdinand, Modest Mouse, Snow Patrol, too many Jazz and R&B musicians to list, etc etc.
Movies: I can watch Amelie almost anytime. The Firefly series and Serenity are close to my heart. I also have watched my fair share of Japanese Animation too- The Magi and Attack on Titan have been most recently devoured.
Books: I've read, re-read, and own almost the entire series of Discworld novels by the late Terry Pratchett. good stuff.
Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, although I don't agree with his personal & political opinions it's still a damn good book.
All things health & wellness related: Herbology, Nutrition, Shaitsu, TCM, Chakra, Feng Shui, etc etc
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In a previous life, I was a self-proclaimed costume engineer. As it was a fun, and somewhat healthy distraction from the un-fulfilling life of a hospitality minion. My preferred method of construction included cardboard and duct tape, and the pinnacle of my costume creation was a one-woman walking AT-AT (as shared on my profile.) I submitted myself and this costume to 3 different contests and won all 3. I stopped entering in them, but I still own the gear.
I've also made myself into the following: an Atari Joystick, CheerBear of the Care Bares, a 1920's flapper, a Jawa, a Van Ship engineer a la Steampunk, Gogo from Kill Bill, a Dwarf from Terry Pratchett's Discworld, Bat Girl, Cthulhu, the Blue Fairy (distorted) from Pinocchio, etc etc
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm constantly learning, I've been told that I'm a good teacher and trainer, Sharing is caring. (I'm not really sure what this section is looking for. )
What I Can Share with Hosts
an eclectic fusion of a healer type foodie, and everything that comes with that. Plus a likely backpack of goodies.
