About Me
Howdy new friends!
I spent the first half of my life growing up in a small town in Iowa and the second half primarily in big cities. I've lived abroad for about 5 years in several different countries in South America. I think I was a Brazilian in another life, and look forward to becoming one again in this life.
I went to business school before I went to film school, and have spent my career working in film, finance and politics ( or some combination of the 3). I made the to move to west coast about 5 years ago, after grad school and a 7 year run in D.C. I love the energy of compact east coast cities, living w/out a car & not even noticing, but have become enamored with the west coast vibe. I think I'll stay out here as long as I live in the States.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I was a foreign exchange student in high school (I spent a year in Juiz de Fora, Brazil) with Rotary Foreign Exchange. That experience completely changed my life and I have been addicted to traveling ever since. I had the good fortune to live with a local Brazilian family and since then I've been convinced that the only way to truly get to know a place is by spending time with the people that actually live there (what a crazy concept, right?!?).
