About Me
Hello, Hallo, Selam! My name is Melisa and I am planing on traveling as much as I can before I start studying medicine. I currently live in Vienna but I come from a very touristic city in Turkey: Antalya.
I speak three languages (TR, ENG, DE) fluently as a side effect of my passion for movies. That has been also very useful when visiting museums, as I can always find a description written in one of three (most likely in English or German though :D).
Ukulele and Guitar are my way of relaxing, I sketch from time to time and have trouble not dancing when I hear Rock'n'Roll. I enjoy photography, though not professionally. I am absolutely in love with science and can accidentally try to explain quantum entanglement or the RNA Hypothesis in the middle of a conversation, but I do return to my normal state in short notice.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think people are infinitely diverse and that's why I would love to hear your story and the way you perceive life. I want to share memories and kindness, what does not happen at all in Motels or Hotels. I would really enjoy sharing my culture and thoughts too! Some recommendations about sightseeing would be an amazing bonus of course. :-)

I am a total Nerd-Fan of The Lord of The Rings, books included (binged it with my father at least 7 times) Star Wars was my first Binge. I really enjoy the Harry Potter movies, some parts do bring me to tears. Other than that I like mind bending stuff, but not Donnie Darko level mind bending.
Zweig, Wilde and Twain are truly fascinating, i think.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I came to Vienna from Turkey...
where I could barely speak the language, let alone understand the regional dialects,
where I had no relatives, friends or acquaintances whatsoever,
without the help of a consulting firm to ease the transition,
based on my belief, that this is the best way to carry out my dream.
Now I speak fluent German (was wirklich ironisch ist, weil ich mein ganzes Profil auf Englisch geschrieben hab) and feel stronger than ever, because of the obstacles I was able to overcome.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am really passionate about explaining and understanding , I feel like I can see the sparkle in someone's eyes while they explain something they are passionate about. So any knowledge I possess, I would be more than delighted to share. When you also feel the way I do, I would also like to learn what you can teach me!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer a lovely conversation (in three languages/und zwar auf drei Sprachen/hem de üç dilde!), open ears and an open mind, perhaps some stuff you always wanted to know about Turkey..?
