Overview
About Me
Give freely, love deeply, travel often, laugh much. Cead Mile Failte!
Addicted traveler--I admit it. New places, people and cultures are my drug of choice. I look for the good in all things, surround myself with positive, uplifting people, and can enjoy hours of conversation--learning about what makes people unique, then drawing that out and discussing it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am not content to only read about the world in books and in the news--I want to experience places from the eye of a local. Walk the streets to discover hidden gems, taste (and cook) the food, smell the air and get to know the people at a deeper level than the "guidebook tourist". I look forward to CS for the exchange of culture, kindness, local knowledge, and good humor!
I enjoy seeing all the details of local communities, from the stonework in the architecture, to the spices in the kitchens, and the books on the bedside table.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: can change with my mood from Classical to Celtic to Country, with much in between.
Movies and TV usually lead me to an escape of some sort, usually sci fi, fantasy or romance, with some comedy mixed in; while reading is focused more on business, biographies ad history. Except for Game of Thrones--which pulled me in with the writing and world-building of the entire Ice & Fire series.
Movies: Princess Bride (the most quotable)
TV: Black Sails, Outlander, Game of Thrones, Sherlock, old game shows on Buzzr, and depending on the league, I can tell you who I cheer for in EU futbol as well.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Trekked the Himalayas to deliver medical supplies to remote communities.
Piloted a float plane in Alaska
Kayaked the Gauley river
Teach, Learn, Share
Visited all 50 US states and over 50 countries, and have many stories to share.
I can help train just about any dog or horse.
Would love to learn new cooking techniques, new music, new adventures.
Will definitely share a few laughs and hopefully interesting conversation!
What I Can Share with Hosts
A happy, positive mindset, and an eagerness to explore. A tasty meal if you'll let me play in your kitchen. Belly rubs and kisses for all your pets.
