About Me

Kiwi girl, born and raised. Youngest of 4 (3 girls, 1 boy) and was born with a bit of a wild side. I like to think that I am an open minded, laid back person who is always up for an adventure, big or small. I adore learning, I find great interest in the sciences, and am lucky enough to have been taught to use my creativity and knack for Art by my mum who is an artist and photographer. Being pushed out of my comfort zone always comes with some trepidation, however this is where I thrive the most. I have a super special 5 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback, who is the most kind hearted and loyal creature I have ever met. I only wish she could venture out into the world with me. I am an incredibly ambitious person and once I have set my mind to something, I make it happen, no matter how long it takes. I love everything the world has to offer and I can't wait to explore.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I head off on my OE with no other company but my own, I thought this would be a wonderful way to meet people, share our stories and have a place to stay while I travel and experience the world. What better way to do it, than stay and meet like minded people!

Interests

I have been fortunate to grow up in an area with so much to offer. Over the past 18 years I have tried my hand at anything I found interesting. Dance. Drawing. Painting. Textiles. Photography. Biking. Netball. Horse riding. Snowboarding. Paddle boarding. Piano. Trumpet. Barbershop. Choir... you name it. I'm always a willing candidate to try something different.

Music, Movies, and Books

I grew up listening to every type of music imaginable. My Dad has a rather broad, and rather large, collection of CDs... I love anything from classic rock to smooth jazz. Dave Matthews Band, Hiatus Kaiyote, Robert Glasper, Snarky Puppy and Lake Street Dive are a few amongst many of my favourite artists.
My favourite movie: Blood Diamond... and Monsters Inc.
Favourite books: the Bronze Horseman by Paulina Simons, and Deception Point by Dan Brown.
