Overview
About Me
Childishly curious and intellectually obsessive!
I am a Zimbabwean, Zanzibari and multicultural hybrid, who has been in super sunny Cape Town for 8 great years. I am a Chemical engineer by paper but a creative at heart. Biomimicry (and design thinking) is my career direction - a unique way to be inspired by and use nature's lense to drive innovation, to push Africa's sustainability drive.
I currently manage a 4 floor co-creation space (for innovation) and I am project managing a long-term rooftop garden project. I am now to pick up a PhD in water purification... all while working on a start-up eeekkkk.

I love to travel and stay super active. I enjoy hiking, swimming, cross fit, kloofing and anything I have not tried yet. I have tried everything from long-boarding (funny youtube moment behind that) to surfing, and my eyes set on rowing when I land in Germany later this year... ;p
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
After attending a recent event (Greenpop Festival) with an active couch-surfer and his past surfers (and now good friends) in Cape Town, I was intrigued by the sense of community that comes with engaging with fellow travelers and explorers. When traveling or moving to a new country - I am looking to ease myself into the new culture by interacting with and befriending outgoing and interesting people in an unfamiliar territory. I am excited about the meet ups, events and new friendships that can grow from this experience.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I swam with Dolphins - with no gear in the middle of the Indian Ocean. I jumped onto a fishermans boat and went 2 hourEnlightenment era: we learnt about the laws of nature.
Entanglement: is the beauty that emerges from processes that are neither natural nor artificial.s out ... We spotted Dolphins and he said jump. I jumped - it was magical..
I hiked up lions head everyday for 2 months - managed to reduce my time from 1 hour to under 30 minutes - while losing 8 kilograms :p. I can be competitive - whops.
Teach, Learn, Share
I got this wrong the first time around ( see my old answer below). I was getting quite academic about it. Here is what I really want to share:
What I try to live by:
Don't sweat the small stuff - It's all small stuff
Learn from others and learn always
My worldly view:
The human-made world has lost touch with nature and fails to design sustainable "eco-systems" that work with and not against nature. We have been in the era of enlightenment, where we learnt about laws of nature and how to control it -which has lead to sense of entitlement. We should move into a sense of being in existence with nature - a state of entanglement.
"Entanglement: is the beauty that emerges from processes that are neither natural nor artificial."
.....
My old literal response below.. *yawn
