About Me

CURRENT MISSION

do as much as possible before I die

ABOUT ME

Hello! I am a wildland firefighter, working for the nation forest service.

PHILOSOPHY

I'll try anything twice. Because I might not have done it right the first time.

Travel is 73% about the food

Everything always turns out ok in the end. Sometimes the end is just really, really, really far away.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have surfed in Europe, and met up with couchsurfers in different cities around the world. My job makes it tricky to host, but the few times I have been able to it was great.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like most kinds of music, from metal to bluegrass. No country music, though! I especially like live performances, I will go see anything once, because you never know how amazing it might be.

I read a lot, mostly fiction and fantasy. My favorite authors are Margaret Atwood, Mercedes Lackey, Robert Jordan, Isabel Allende, Terry Pratchett... I could go on and on.

I watch a lot of movies (don't get cable where I live, so movies are it for me) I like a huge variety of movies. My one rule of thumb is that when people say "You have to see this, I cried and cried." I don't watch it. Why would I want to be depressed by fiction? I can tune into a political debate for that.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spending time in tribal villages in Laos.

Fighting a forest fire in a grove of giant sequoia trees

hiking rim to rim to rim of the grand canyon

scuba diving. anywhere, anytime

The Burning Man Festival- twice, and hopefully again someday

Teach, Learn, Share

I am an Ok cook with a short attention span and grand aspirations, so if you have tasty recipes that are easy to make, let me know. I have seen more of the USA then anyone I know, so if you need info, trust me, I'm your girl.
