ABOUT ME

Warm-hearted and open-minded....generally quite laid-back, and with a love for all things creative. I work in a lovely little organic restaurant, at a yoga studio, teach part time at a holistic nutrition school, and have been dabbling in starting my own business. I love bellydancing, costume making, yoga, being in nature, and a whole bunch of other things. I deeply value meaningful connections with other people, and my closest friends mean the world to me.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I absolutely love the idea of staying with locals rather than in a hotel or even a hostel. My first experience with couchsurfing was so much more than I expected, and it opened up a new world for me. I made new connections, had a much more personable and unique experience, and saw things that I likely wouldn't have if I had gone a more traditional route.

As it turned out, my roommates were not comfortable with hosting, so my hosting status is currently on hiatus. It may resume in the future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

From this website, I have couchsurfed once and hosted once. Both were very positive experiences! Beyond that, I have slept on many a couch in my lifetime, and hosted plenty of friends and acquaintances who were travelling through town. Also hostels, university dorms, countless roomies, and lived for 4 years in a community based co-op

Dancing, sewing, drawing, yoga, reading, writing, health and nutrition, good food and wine, making connections with other people, pregnancy and birth, burlesque, going to farmer's markets, cooking, hiking, running, trying new things, kittens, and learning about anything that happens to catch my interest.

After returning from a bellydancing retreat in Costa Rica, I quit my soul sucking office job without a backup plan. I think it worked out rather well. :)

I'm a nutritionist and an instructor at a nutrition college, have just finished my training as a doula, about to start training as a "Dancing for Birth" instructor, and have also been practicing and performing fusion belly dance for the past 6 years....happy to share the knowledge and the love

I'm happy to cook, offer nutrition/doula knowledge, teach some very basic bellydance, or anything else that feels appropriate.
