My name is Melissa, I'm from England and have been living in New Zealand for almost 8 years.
I met and married my husband, Ben, in Nz (he's a kiwi).

I've been traveling since 2012; America, South East Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.

I've done a lot of traveling on holidays when growing up in Europe, Adventure instructor in US for summer camp, and volunteering in Kenya.

I am finally going backpacking again, this time to Japan. I am very excited as it has been a long time since I have last traveled. I will be traveling for 6 weeks.

I like meeting locals. The whole reason I love traveling is the people on the journey and not just the places. I like meeting people with similar interests and passions, and I have found couch surfing as a great platform in which to do this. Hosting people, being hosted, or just meeting like-minded people to hang out or explore together. And finding the local secret spots.
I still remember every couch surfing experience. It brings more adventure and stories to travel, as well as making friends.

兴趣

I'm in love travel, meeting new people and experiencing new cultures. I studied sociology at university and love finding out about how society is different in different countries.

I enjoy photography and exploring new places.

I like skiing, running, biking, traveling, hiking / tramping, and food.

I like being environmentally friendly and trying to minimize my footprint on the world. In NZ, I hunt, fish, and garden for food. I find it connects us with the natural world more than buying food in a packet at the supermarket. - NZ is all about living off the land.

Love a good movie that you can get lost in! Action, adventure, romance, comedy! any film that's good, no alien or horror movies though!
Love a good book! Again my tastes in books and novels vary widely! Pride and prejudice, to dan brown, to Sherlock Holmes, and also a few autobiographies!

Every day is amazing; I'm in another country living the dream that many people do not do, I have the freedom to go wherever, see everything, and trust myself.

I can help with English practice.

I love food and can cook. However, I love cooking together and learning new recipes. I have no allergies or food preferences. I don't mind if you're vegetarian or vegan or eat meat.

I'm also making personal lifestyle changes to reduce waste. I'm happy to learn more from others.

I can share my travel stories and give advice also.
