About Me

CURRENT MISSION

only to love what I love

ABOUT ME

I love to travel and to meet like minded or not-so-like minded people. I'm low maintenance and always positive. I try to stay present. Currently working at a nonprofit in Seattle, living on a sailboat, and doing stand up comedy. Life is pretty alright! I've been on couch surfing for 10 years!!

PHILOSOPHY

Live free. Love yourself.
Try everything!!!

When you do what you want the universe conspires to make it happen.

Worry only makes things worse.
"No pasa nada"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I'm traveling I always check CS before finding a place to stay because I prefer the community mindset and the openness, I prefer to have actual conversations with actual humans.... and when I am home in SD I would let anyone sleep on my couch. Although CSers are a rare commodity in my small town...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I lived in Guadalajara Couch Surfing was a great outlet to meet like minded people, incredible people. My favorite experience so far was when I was hitch hiking with three friends, we arrived in Veracruz without a place to stay. I logged on to CS and got a call less than a half hour later from Javier, who gave us a place to stay, great company, hot showers and breakfast in the morning. It's just great to know that we can make meaningful connections with strangers and take care of each other.

Interests

travel, latin american culture, theatre, movies, practicing sustainable living, growing my own food, crocheting, I think hallucinating is healthy, dancing, or not dancing, karaoke, socialism, the undead, hanging with friends, hanging with strangers, dancing in the streets, dancing in the nude, hugging strangers, hugging people I know, meeting people in secret places, randomly going to a far away city for no good reason other then you are hungry for something your town does not provide, making snow angels, singing, sock puppets, making sure everyone I call a friend has been hugged by me, hating the haters, singing in the shower, never becoming an accountant, finding the best hiding spot during hide and seek, drop kicking people who correct my grammar, going to shows, watching Bob Ross, playing board games, curing cancer,

Music, Movies, and Books

There isn't good music, and there isn't bad music. There is music that moves you and music that moves me, and both are beautiful in their own way.

Movies-
My most recent favorites:
The Wrestler, The Reader
Y tu mama tambien, Man on Wire
American Drug War: Last White Hope
Most films directed by Christopher Guest, Michel Gondry, Wes Anderson, or written by Charlie Kaufman

Books!
Something super dystopian or a depressing memoir are generally my forte.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent two weeks on the road, hitch hiking across Mexico. Entering Mexico City from the back of a pickup truck was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. We stayed in the pilgrim house during the pilgrimage of Guadalupe. Incredible experience. I'd love to tell you about it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I practice a life of trusting the universe to provide as I love what I love and follow my intuition.

Countries I’ve Visited

Anguilla, Canada, Guatemala, Mexico
