ABOUT ME

(Melissa) I have traveled quite a bit mostly by boat. Whether I am on the high seas or dry land I love being outside, meeting new people, having a variety of experiences and playing and listening to music. When I am on dry land I compete in triathlons and do a lot of biking.

Interests

(Melissa) I think it is easier if I list what I am not interested in. Video games, the mall, politics for politic's sake and famous people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: (Melissa) I like music of all kinds but live music is the best! I also play a few instruments.
Books: (Melissa) I read a lot for school but when I get a chance for some fun reading I love a good mystery or adventure tale. I especially cherish classics and reading aloud.
Movies: (Melissa) I don't own a TV but when I do get around to watching a film or two I would favor What about Bob?, Amile, Lock stock and two smoking barrels, The princess bride and any artistic or funny movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I (Melissa) have a top three...
I cycled from the northern most point of Scotland to the southern most point of England, about a thousand miles. I camped the whole way and had no idea what I was getting myself into. It was great!

I graduated from undergrad, gave away all my earthy possessions except for a bike, guitar and what I could fit into two backpacks and jumped on a sailboat with perfect strangers. I ended up sailing/working as crew for four year covering about 1/4th of the globe.

I have also done several triathlons which are an ongoing source of realizing my personal goals.
