About Me

CURRENT MISSION

my mission is good food; working with the earth; growing vegetables. shoveling compost. harvesting tomatoes. pickling zucchini. canning beets. vegetable stirfries. i want to learn how to grow food i can nourish myself and others.

ABOUT ME

I'm currently living in Portland OR working with plants as an organic farmer and a gardener. I love canning and pickling food, making batches of kombucha, and baking apple crisp. We have 3 chickens that give us fresh multi-colored eggs each morning. Basically, I'm trying my best to be an amateur urban farmer. I'm having great fun with the process, even when it involves picking slugs off plants at 10pm at night...

I also love bicycle touring, jumping into cold rivers on sunny days, and singing my heart out.

PHILOSOPHY

give gratitude for the bounties of this world!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

i walked el camino de santiago, a walking path across spain. when i reached the end of the path, a western town called finisterre, i met jagged cliffs with crashing waves jumping up them. it was a wild beautiful place that i could not have found in the same way without walking to it. my respect for my body has become deep. when we use them, our bodies are amazing and capable beings that can take us anywhere.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach about growing food organically.
pickling and canning.
baking bread.
fermenting foods.

i want to learn more about all the things i can teach about as well as more about the guitar. I also want to learn more spanish.
