About Me
CURRENT MISSION
The continual pursuit of knowledge, beauty, experience & all the many pleasures of a life well lived.
ABOUT ME
A 31 year old Texan explorer. I grew up in a home constantly on the move, so I've lived in or been to most of the States in the US as well as some adventures abroad. I've been very fortunate to make many friends all over the world, who have inspired me to learn more about different cultures. I have a passion for food & love to experiment with different styles. I studied interior design & worked in residential for 5 years before switching to commercial 4.5 years ago. I love what I do! I also enjoy woodworking, crafting & painting & hope to someday start my own business doing all of the above. Some of the main things I search for when I travel are the food, music & history of the area I'm visiting, I try to immerse myself in those three areas as much as possible in whatever time I have.
PHILOSOPHY
"Those who find ugly meanings in beautiful things are corrupt without being charming. This is a fault. Those who find beautiful meanings in beautiful things are the cultivated. For these there is hope. They are the elect to whom beautiful things mean only Beauty."
- Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray
Interests
I love to travel (especially road trips in my Jeep). I can often be found experimenting with food, cooking, baking & all things food related. I enjoy entertaining & often host dinners & gatherings for my friends. On weekends I enjoy checking out breweries & trying new beers, going to farmers markets & festivals, I frequent the cinema and I watch a lot of tv series. I also enjoy a wide variety of music & dancing & quite frequently attend concerts across the US. I love to read, particularly science fiction & fantasy as well as play video games when time permits. I also enjoy the performing arts & have a fascination with history & cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a huge fan of Tom Waits but I have a broad scope of musical interests. I enjoy Jazz, Blues, Classic Punk, Alternative, Rock, Indy, Folk, Bluegrass & much more. Some of my favorites include Billie Holiday, Neko Case, The Smiths, Julie London & many others. I love to read, I mostly lean towards science fiction, fantasy & classics but I have a fairly broad collection of literature. I am more of a classic book collector rather that electronic reading. Someday I'd love to have a large library with floor to ceiling books & a rolling step ladder I can swing across, spanning the entire room! I'm a big movie watcher as well, I mostly stream movies & I try to go to the cinema at least 1 a week. It's such a broad category though, too much to narrow down without boring the socks off whoever is taking the time to actually read these descriptions!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It's hard to narrow down awe-striking moments because amazing, new experiences happen nearly every time I travel somewhere new, it's one reason I'm so addicted to traveling & life in general!
If I have to look back & select a few I'd say more recently, while traveling in Germany, I climbed a large hill in the dead of winter to an old castle ruin with my 2 little nieces & sister-in-law(ages 3 & 5 they were total troupers). When we got to the ruins, we climbed the tallest remaining tower & looked out over the most beautiful landscape. We noticed off in the distance a snow storm was moving across the land like a wave of white. We stayed & watched it roll in, till finally it crashed into the tower. We danced around in the swirling flurries for a bit before climbing back down the hill in the snow. Then we went for hot chocolate in the little village below. It was an awesome thing to get to share with my nieces.
Now if I look farther back to my childhood, I got to go on a 3 hour (each way) hike through a jungle in Borneo, with little & sometimes no trail, till we popped out into a clearing with a beautiful waterfall in the middle of nowhere. We were the only ones there, besides the Hornbills, leaches & other jungle wildlife lol! We went swimming in the falls & ate a picnic lunch, before heading back through the jungle to our bus parked on the side of the road. Best field trip EVER!
