About Me

For more references, please take a moment to check out my partner's profile - https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/jmchaves
We have hosted many surfers together through his profile.

I am currently back in school to become a UX Researcher/Designer, because this world needs more ethical user-centered technology, and women need to be more involved in this process.

I've been an aerial dancer for 3 years now. I dance on silks and the lyra. It is my absolute passion and I wish I could dance every single day if my body would let me :P

I'm easy-going, I adapt to many environments easily. I like to learn something new every day.

I'm first-generation Costarican-American. I can't really decide where I'm "from". I also don't know how to write About Me's because I'm not sure what defines me, so ask me anything you'd like to know!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here because I love to travel and meet new people. I believe that I will get to know a country better if I meet its people; staying in a hotel will only alienate me from the reality of each place I visit.

I think this is a great community where individuals with the same interests and similar mindsets can meet up and learn from each other.

Interests

I read a lot, I go out with friends. I like to go on nature adventures, visit cities with tons of history and do ghost tours just for the fun stories.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen mainly to alternative folk music, but I appreciate almost every kind there is.

I also read all types of books: history, biographical, fiction, non-fiction, fantasy, etc.

I'm pretty open-minded when it comes to entertainment.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travel to Brazil. It was an amazing culture shock and I started learning Portuguese by scratch. I also stayed with a family for 3 months, I learned so much in a short period of time and I found a new family in another country :D

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, France, Italy, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, Switzerland, United States, Uruguay

Countries I’ve Lived In

Costa Rica, United States
