About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To graduate and find out where my next chapter in life will be!

ABOUT ME

I'm a very heart-driven, passionate person! I love to travel and meet new people. I'm currently working on a Master's degree at UCLA, so that is pretty much my life, but I try to get out and explore the city whenever possible. I love adventures and exploring. I'm a very detail-oriented and organized person, but loooooove being spontaneous and making the plan up as I go once in a while too. I'm kind of a nerd.

PHILOSOPHY

Never pass up an opportunity to travel or to take an adventure. I almost always follow my heart, and not my head. I'm not saying it's a great philosophy, but it's who I am.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't participated much at all lately, and for that I sincerely apologize. In the past I have surfed a few different places while travelling. Now that I live in Los Angeles I am hoping to start hosting starting next month (March 2016).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I unfortunately don't get much time to travel while I'm in school, but my few experiences with the CS community so far have been nothing short of wonderful and I'm excited to keep getting more involved with it!

Interests

I absolutely LOVE talking about health, especially global health, social determinants of health, health promotion, etc. In my free time I enjoy playing the ukulele, geocaching, salsa dancing (I am mediocre at best, but getting better!!!), playing Mario Kart & drinking coffee.

Music, Movies, and Books

Pretty much anything as far as music goes. Not a huge fan of country music, but I've been known to enjoy it if line-dancing is involved.

Some of my favorite books include A Separate Peace, anything by Mary Roach, & Blue Like Jazz.

I have a million favorite movies but some I'm really into right now are: Silver Linings Playbook, Fever Pitch, When Harry Met Sally, & Her. I watch kind of a lot of TV, especially on Netflix like Portlandia! So good.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One time I slept on a sidewalk in New York City for 2 nights in December so I could get in to watch a taping of Saturday Night Live. Mission accomplished!

Teach, Learn, Share

I know quite a few card games & if I have my ukulele, I'll play you a song! I like to cook, but I don't have a ton of experience...I'll gladly buy the ingredients if you want to tag-team a meal though!

From what I have seen and experienced, the Couchsurfing experience is one of the best ways I have ever seen to learn about culture, travel, humankind in general, and so much more! If you host me, I would love to buy you a cup of coffee and hear about your passions, your dreams, and all the things this crazy life has taught you. :) I myself am an open book!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Music, book, TV show recommendations. A love for craft beer and all things microbrewed. An easygoing and laid-back temperament. I am very neat and am willing to be whichever kind of guest you prefer. If you're busy and need space to work, I have no problem exploring on my own. But if we get along and want to hang, I can share with you a willingness to explore and enjoy our surroundings together! As a host, I love to play tour guide if I have the time. We can try something new together!

Countries I’ve Visited
