About Me

CURRENT MISSION

A 2 year trip to New Zealand, to explore, share stories, hike, work, play and lend a helping hand to various projects in the arts and environment.

ABOUT ME

What my best friends say about me: open-minded, supportive, great listener, laid back but equally adventurous.

I always try to make the best of a situation. I am a Scorpio, so can be a little feisty, but I always put other people first and hate the idea of letting people down.

If everything gets a little too much, I have to dance! Dancing is my release and my most favourite state of being.

In the last few years I feel like I have grown far more comfortable with who I am, and I feel like my best is yet to come.

PHILOSOPHY

If everything gets a little too much, I have to dance! Dancing is my release and my most favourite state of being.

I try to live my life a day at a time. I am not one for planning too far in advance, or thinking too much about the future. I love not knowing what each day will bring, and this experience is certainly more exciting when you are travelling.

The most important thing you can learn is how to understand others, and how to be understood.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I will be leaving the UK on 28th July this year (2016), and flying in to Auckland.

On my journey I will be looking to meet people in the couchsurfing community with a similar mind-frame, openness and lust for travel. I may need a place to stay or just an opportunity to meet people, or both...all depends where I am and what I am doing at the time. I currently have a very open plan, leaving room for opportunities to present themselves to me.

I am tidy and clean, and am used to sharing living spaces with other people. I am respectful of people's space and needs. I enjoy hanging out with others, but also am more than happy with just my own company.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have stayed at 3 different locations in Cairns, Australia (with 3 different wonderful hosts). I have also couch surfed in Brisbane for 3 days, with a lovely German girl. I have also, informally (not through couchsurfing website) stayed with people in the UK, after I got back from Australia- friends of friends, and people I met whilst travelling around.

Interests

Exploring, walking, learning new things, acro yoga, drinking gin, theatre, films, swimming, reading, sunsets, sunrises, and dancing (lots of dancing)!

Music, Movies, and Books

Films: The Dark Knight, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Pan's Labyrinth, Watchmen, City of God

TV: Games of Thrones, Peaky Blinders, documentaries.

Books/Reading: Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson, Any Other Mouth by Anneliese Mackintosh, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Non-fiction, theatre theory, myths and legends, plays.

Music- anything I can dance to- African, Columbian, electro swing, anything with a filthy bass! I love discovering new music, from all corners of the world. Can't stop listening to The Busy Twist at the moment!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Only one?! Most recently: completing Tough Mudder, a 12 mile grueling assault course, with a serious amount of mud! Epic experience, and certainly lives up to it's name. The comradery and spirit was inspiring! I was so broken for days afterwards!!

Plenty of other epic experiences to come...

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to share opportunities to dance with people! I have recently been training in acro yoga, and would love to share these skills with others. I also have experience in performing and delivering theatre workshops, and always love to develop my performance and circus skills!

On a more basic level, I also love to share a drink (gin or tea) and interesting conversation.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A pair of hands to help in anyway I can! Stories, a drink, a dance and openness.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, China, Laos, Thailand, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, United Kingdom
