I am Melli, I am 24 years old and I am from Munich, Germany, currently living in Boston, MA and working as an au pair. I live with an American family and take care of their kids. One reason why I became an au pair is, of course, that I love working with kids. The other reason (and probably the bigger one) is, that I want to travel. I am very glad that I've already been traveling a lot with my parents since I was born. That's why I've seen mainly many countries in Europe . When I graduated from College last year I decided to move to the U.S. for a year to get out of my comfort zone and explore another part of the world. And her I am, since 10 month and I can't believe how much I've experienced so far. I've traveled at least once a month and I have seen 14 states so far. The grand finale of my year abroad will be one month full of traveling, where I want to explore Hawaii, parts of the West Coast and Florida.
I am a very social person, I love to meet new people, get to know different cultures and explore places that you can not find on a "top 10 things to do in..." list.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I heard about couchsurfing from a friend, who has done it once and loved it. For me the great thing about couchsurfing is that you live together with somebody who actually knows the place I want to visit so I hope for a lot of insider hints. I would also love to share my culture and experiences with people who love traveling as much as I do.
