Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: haha this is going to be hard. I generally categorize my movies by director. So, Fritz Lang, Akira Kurosawa, David Lynch and Cronenberg are probably my favorites. I also really like Jan Svankmajer ( yay stop motion! ), Krzysztof Kieślowski, Lars von trier, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Luc Besson, Jean-Luc Godard and I'll stop with Michel Gondry. I think I started to list them by country. Really theres so many it's almost impossible for me to think of them all! Some movies I hold dear to my heart like Dead Ringers, Wild at heart, Cinema Paradiso, Crash and Doom Generation. Also pretty much anything with Udo Kier in it.

Music: My favorite subject in life! I can never be without music. I love Django Reinhardt, anything 40s big band type of jazz stuff , Ink spots, April Stevens, 50s doo wop type music is what I grew up listening to so I have a soft spot in my heart for it. On a daily basis however I'm more likely to be listening to these bands : My bloody valentine, Jesus and mary chain, Cocteau twins, Elizabeth Fraser, Jeff Buckley, Blondie,Broadcast, Roy Orbison, Starflyer 59, Death Cab For Cutie, Le Tigre, Postal Service, Tracy + the Plastics,Azure Ray, Cristina, M83, Julee Cruise, Violent Femmes, Weezer, Cat Power, Lush, Ladytron, Air, Neutral Milk Hotel, xbxrx, Hot Hot Heat, Deerhoof, Tom Waits, The Church, Echo and the Bunnymen, Johnny Cash, Interpol, Dead Milkmen, Nirvana, Stacy Q, Cocteau Twins, Momus, Primal Scream, Macha, Ours, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Nick Cave, David Bowie, Nick Drake, Ayumi Hamasaki, Coldplay, Radiohead, The Smiths, Goldfrapp, Buddy Holly, Billy Idol, Adam Ant, The Doors, Orbital, Hope Sandoval, Mike + the Mechanics, Travelling Wilburys, Icicle Works, Siouxsie, Daft Punk, Howard Jones, Now Its Overhead, Billy Joel, X, Snowpony, Bikini Kill, Nancy Sinatra, Indochine, Brand New, Low, Bright Eyes, the Faint, Trail of Dead, Super Furry Animals, Joy Division, Skinny Puppy, Dwight Yoakum, Blonde Redhead, Duran Duran, Depeche mode, The Cure, The Cars, NIN, Stereophonics, Catatonia, The Cardigans, The Kooks, Superbus, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Dolly, Ute Lemper, St.Etienne, St. Vincent The Pixies, Sonic Youth, Curve, Freezepop, New Order, The Beatles, Iron and Wine. The Arcade fire, Islands, Of Montreal, The Divine comedy, Daniel Johnson, Shelleyan Orphan, Katia Guerreiro, pretty much any Fado and a million other bands I'm sure!

Books: I really like more historical non fiction books to be honest. But I suppose the basic stuff like Burroughs, Bukowski, Vonnegut and Palahniuk.
