Hi surfers, how it's going? My name is Jiri Melnikov, I always love to go abroad, meet a new people and see how the things are going all over the world. :-)

What I like? Good beer, tasty food, rock music, some literature and theater.

Few examples:
music - UFO, Spooky Tooth, Uriah Heep.. these old classics, but I am still trying to be open to new music as well.
films - The Wall, Hair, Apollo 13, Das Boot, The Shawshank Redemption... too many to write them here.
books - all the Tolkien's books, Witcher, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, 1984, some books from Terry Pratchett... again many more.

So far I traveled around South America, through the Russia (Transsiberian railway) and Mongolia. I've been twice to China, three times to India and went to some other Asian countries. Lately I am also travelling to interesting destination because of my job, at least something good about it! ;-) Everywhere I've seen so many friendly and helping people, so do some couch-surfing back in Czech seems like a very good idea.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I try to give back to the community what I got when I was a little bit younger. I 've enjoyed some really good couches all around the world so it would be a pleasure to give something back.

Interests

Mostly said in the "About me" section, but okey... instead of this, as I am working in the IT field, I like new technologies, networking, Linux... etc. I take a special care to use a create opensource software, the freedom in that field is priceless. I worked as web programmer, currently I also enjoy C++ programming. I participate on student theater festival in Czech Rep and some other festivals. I brew my own beer and I am very interested in tasting it whenever I can. :-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach/do things around the computers, web pages, programs.. now mostly things about video mixing / transmissions.

Because of the next trips, I want to learn Spanish and Russian. :-)
