About Me

I'm working at a nonprofit in DC at the moment doing climate policy:)

I travel to expand my sense of self, to deepen empathy and appreciation for all cultures and people groups, and to better recognize and understand systems and institutions of power and people-centered urban design.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

At times I'm quite introverted and Couchsurfing/meeting others is my way of challenging myself to stay open-minded, engaged and curious about other human beings and ultimately to become more compassionate! I believe in the power of sharing resources, ideas, and love with others as an alternative and simple way of living and moving in the world, and I think that movements are based on mutual trust, respect, and understanding. I'm interested in sustainability, localization movements, and political economic systems based on justice. Couchsurfing embodies all of that for me!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled to 6 countries (Ireland, UK, Denmark, Holland, Canada, US) in 7 days! Was a little too intense.

I met with other CS'ers during the blood moon eclipse at Amager Beach and we jumped off the dock while watching it happen.... and then went dancing to cool off :')

Teach, Learn, Share

- I am a native English speaker and am professionally fluent in Chinese speaking and basic reading/writing.

- I know basic yoga and play the guitar/sing, and have played piano for 12 years, so I can teach that as well.

- I know quite a bit about agriculture/localization/organic farming and environmental issues and am happy to exchange ideas and resources.

- I have solo traveled for months right after graduation and have lots of tips, stories and recommendations to offer!

- I worked as a graphic designer and journalist, so know a bit about design and writing, especially working with Adobe CreativeSuite.

- I am a conscientious eater and very passionate about global ethics so we can talk about clothing, lifestyle, energy, eating choices etc.

- I can be your running, cooking, walking, painting, reading, movie-watching, teatime, yoga, or jamming partner :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a great listener and can provide you with company with pretty much anything you like to do (unless it's bad for my health or illegal) 😃

I am happy to share my experiences abroad, my experience as a student, etc. and any of the above things I know a bit about I'd love to teach & share. I can cook a few Chinese dishes though I really hate spending time in the kitchen alone (unless I'm eating takeout) 😋 I'm a tea AND coffee, dogs AND cats, daytime exploring AND nightlife adventures kinda person so if you're open-minded and up for some fun memories then I am sure we will get along!!

If I am hosted by you and we have a good time, you are automatically welcome at my home in the US. My friends tell me I make an incredible itinerary whenever they visit ;)
