HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently not hosting but am willing to be a host when I get a home for myself!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Had a wonderful first couch surfing experience with host Nicky in Edinburgh, Scotland. Am thrilled with the experience as I got to know Michelle from South Korea and Daniel from Venezuela there :)

All of them are amazing people and encouraged me to try couch surfing throughout Europe which I did and I got to meet Sabrina and Georg in Vienna who took me cycling in the city while showing me the sights :)

Christine in Munich gave me the wonderful advice to visit the lovely city of Nuremberg as well as cook for me and made me feel so much at home despite only staying with her for a night :)

My next host in Paris, Gaelle, is the loveliest person, hosting my friend Klaviis and I for 3 nights in Paris by letting us stay in her apartment while she stayed at her boyfriend's for a few days. She also showed us around Paris, cooked great vegetarian food and I cannot express how grateful I am to have been hosted by her :)

I continued couchsurfing back in the UK with another friend as we traveled up to Scotland stopping at different spots by train. We were very lucky to find a host in Liverpool, Adam who gave us a comfortable place to sleep in his living room and also took us to see the beautiful Liverpool skyline at night :)

We were also very lucky to get to know Elvie on Couchsurfing.org as even though she could not host us her housemate Sam volunteered to host us and we had such a great time in York exploring the beautiful city and sharing experiences with the rest of their friendly housemates :)

In Edinburgh, we were very welcomed to stay with Lukasz, another friendly host, but decided not to trouble him and stayed with kind Anna who found us a comfortable place to sleep in her living room despite her being busy in the midst of moving and everything. We had a fantastic time in Edinburgh watching the annual Edinburgh Militart Tattoo fireworks display from the top of Carlton Hill :)

When I returned to Malaysia, I was searching for a job in Penang and for my survey trip I stayed a night at Yy Ooi's place where we got to share couchsurfing stories and she was kind enough to pick me up from a bus station to her place where I had a clean room of my own even though it was only s simple mattress on the floor. Her kindness touched me as it gave me an opportunity to get my bearings before I settled down in Penang proper.

These amazing people are the reason I'm on Couchsurfing, so that one day, I can do for others what these people have done for me :)
