About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live, laugh, love....and to take life less seriously

ABOUT ME

I'm from Scotland and moved to Oslo, Norway in 2007. I've also lived in Adelaide, South Australia. I'm a researcher with a background in psychology.
I can be quiet at times, outgoing other times but I'm always friendly and open to meeting new people :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting, surfing or for meeting locals / other tourists in the places I visit.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I think it is a fabulous, friendly community. I've met some wonderful people. I hosted at first and during my time in Australia I surfed a few times which was a fantastic experience. I've also used CS for meeting people to travel with, or to meet up with in a city when travelling alone. It's also great for finding out about what events are going on.

Interests

Traveling, experiencing new cultures, food and people. Socialising with friends, keeping active - hill walking, running, skiing, cycling, gym... Reading, films, music, concerts.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love rock / indie music and going to concerts.
Books - I love all sorts - books about traveling, different cultures, crimes, psychological thrillers, and trashy novels for reading on holiday.
Films - I like thrillers, comedies that are actually funny and I'm partial to the odd cheesy Bollywood film. Not a fan of sci-fi and fantasy. Action films with no story line are also a no no.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This is a hard question... there are so many amazing things to pick one. A few highlights might be:
Watching the stars from a tiny island in the middle of Lake Nicaragua. Nature has a way of making us feel insignificant.
Driving a snow scooter round Svalbard and experiencing the peacefulness in the white mountains - not sure if it was lucky or unlucky that I didn't see a polar bear though!
The beautiful, white, sandy and private beaches in the Philippines.
Watching lots of beautiful sunsets in Australia
