About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I currently live in Portland, OR and work at New Seasons Market. While it's not a career goal by any means, I am grateful to have a job that works with lifestyle scheduling and provides the kind of security and respect that fits well with my lifestyle at the moment. I would eventually like to return to school for massage and convert a bus. In the meantime, I've enjoyed making some art on the side, hikes and getaways, gradually learning guitar and jamming out weekly at the Portland drum circles.
ABOUT ME
I am fascinated by life. I am fascinated by its dualities and its paradox. I am fascinated by the hardship and challenges it effects in me as well as the inexplicable joys and powerfully enriching experiences it manifests. I find nature and connection to be the most valuable teachers of the self and the most valuable lesson that I've learned is that there is no end to the teaching. I am empowered by my strengths and humbled by my imperfections and I value each immensely. Traveling, Farming, Cooking, Baking, Arting, Photographing, Writing, Meeting new people, Volunteering, working with children, Yoga, Hikes, Water, Silence, Music, Dancing, Introversion, Extroversion, Spiritual exploration, learning new things, not needing to know at all, watching the way light forms everything, watching light through the darkness, camping...these have all been meaningful in my life at one point or another. Their necessity shifts as life calls for.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have mostly participated as a guest officially on this website but have unofficially invited many into my living areas for years. I am currently renting at a space where both my housemate and I are open to accommodating guests and I am grateful to that.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I lived in a house that hosted many a couch surfer during my last year of college and my house at home has frequently been open to people needing a place. I myself have had the good fortune of meeting people who let me stay with them while I was on the road and have utilized couchsurfing.com a couple of times on short trips so far, but look forward to using it more in the future.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The joy on peoples faces overcoming life challenges and falls, everywhere from being addicted on the street to owning a gallery of their ancestral art, a woman who's stomach was taken out only for her to end up biking every day, a couple whose lives were turned over by bad business only to open their very own bakery after three years of hard work and financial stress...goes on and on....
I have seen blizzarding mountains, illuminous sunsets, abandon buildings with layers of stories, captivating caves, been face to face with beautiful creatures, held hands with the most peaceful communities, seen impressive storms, slept under the clearest skies...
Teach, Learn, Share
Can share: some basic fermentation/pickling skills, various odds and ends of farm knowledge, spiritual resources, sight-seeing recommendations in the area (accompanying if schedule permits and company would be welcomed!) yoga, qi gong, warm heart, good listener, always willing to pitch in a helping hand wherever I stay
Seeking: I would love to learn more about music (guitar, drum, native flute) any knowledge about canning/preservation/sustainable ecology/food systems, practiced qi gong teachers, chinese medicine, massage, free school systems, history, crafts...everything!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good company, a helping hand, and always excited to play tour guide when my schedule allows!
