Hi, my name is Jose Guillermo Sevilla Lopez but you can just call me Memo (Memo is the short-name for Guillermo in Latin America). I am a free-thinker and hardworking person. Success in the work environment is important for me and I am always striving to become better. Feeling challenged is also important for me.

My personality is easy-going, reflexive, fun, spontaneous and adventurous.

In 2016 I had my first international trip. I visited some cities in Spain, France, China, Vietnam, Cambodia and Poland. By the end of 2016 I got selected to work in Toronto, Canada and I've been living here since then. Because of my work I'd travel later on to Colombia and Dominican Republic in 2017.

In 2018 I had the fortune to travel again to Europe with my cousins. I went first to France, where I had my first CS experience with Gaelle, a wonderful Parisian. We did an amazing road trip from Spain to Portugal, visiting over 12 cities. Then we flew to United Kingdom, where we visited London, Liverpool and other cities.

My next travel destination is Halifax, and I look forward to meeting some cool people along the way!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I'd like to connect with people from over the world with different mindsets and learn from them. I also believe it's nice if you can hang out like locals do - that's always better! I don't need fancy things in life, I believe we have only luggage, not belongings, hence I travel light and try not to be attached to material things.

Interests

I like playing guitar and piano every now and then. I can also join a concert if I am simply walking by and sounds interesting. I am very down to earth and like doing spontaneous things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 21 y.o. I created a business conference event called "Simposio Latinoamericano de Imagen". It was a quite huge event. Each edition would gather 600 participants average (executives, managers and university students mostly), during the next 3 years. I'd make 4 editions in different states in the Mexican Republic.

I also got selected for a job in Canada among 600 professionals from all over the world.

Oh, and when I was 6 y.o. I performed in a school play and I decided to play the role of 'Mr. Garbage' because nobody wanted to be the 'bad guy'. But at the end of the play, he would become 'Mr. Clean'. lol
