COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My experience is that couchsurfng is hard to do in bigger cities..., but it might sometimes work. I have had some great hosts especially in Chile! ;o) mutual enrichment...

Movies: there are soo many great movies and I hardly remember their names :-/ now just trying to remember more recent ones: "4 luni, 3 saptamani, 2 zile"; "Persepolis"; "La Question Humaine"; "Control"; "Volver"; etc.

Music: As a (former) musician, I love music... "world music", such as Zdob si Zdub, Fara Zahar, Hedningarna, Värttinää, Cameron de la Isla, Such a Surge, Envy... - in more commercialised terms, I do enjoy Radiohead, Tool, System of a Down, Pink Floyd, Beirut, Louise Attacque and the like.

Books: also many. special likings of French literature: Eric-Emmanuel Schmidt (esp. "Le Visiteur"); Amélie Nothomb; Michel Houllebecq.
Have you read Naomi Klein's "The Shock Doctrine"? It is stunning...
