Hi, I'm 蔡孟哲(Tsai Meng-Che / Cai Meng-Zhe). My English name is Leon.
I come from Taiwan where is a beautiful Pacific island. People live in our country speak Taiwanese and Mandarin, and we use Traditional Chinese words.
I am a master student, and my major is about computer science. This year I go to Shanghai to be an exchange student. I wish myself could experience and learn much on this wide land.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy knowing new things and people, so I like to travel.
In the past, I usually choose hostel as staying way. But now I want to try some new way such as couchsurfing in my travel for knowing local people and culture closely.
Moreover, I am glad to host new friends in my country. I would like to get along with travelers and share each other's stories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I walked around Taiwan island with 2 friends when I just graduated from university in 2011.
We spent 43 days finishing this crazy travel.
We took the paper map to identify our way and camped in elementary schools almost every nights.
It's very tired, of course, but we experienced many interesting things and saw lots of amazing views in our island.
In that age, smart phone was not popular, so this kind of travel is not easy. We must rely on our past experience to handle all cases immediately rather than Google. But for this reason, this trip is extremely unforgettable.

If you ask me whether I want to go around Taiwan again, I will tell you "Yes," "but I am sure I will choose a traffic tool with wheels."
