I'm Kat. I moved to Miyazaki, Japan from Manila Philippines, in 2017 and I really like it here. I just get homesick every now and then. I currently work here as a preschool teacher in a start up international preschool and I love what I do. On the side, I receive remote work mostly for writing for educational purposes for toys, apps and/or science-related manuals for students and teachers.

I recently started going to the nearby gym because I realized that this 2019, going to the beach for yoga and making time for surfing lessons will be a bit of a challenge because I won't be able to go to the beach more often. Sad, I know.

I'm an early-riser and I don't usually go and hang out late at night but I would be happy to go out for a bottle or two and just have a good break and head home around midnight. (Sorry, I'm an old lady. LOL)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Whenever my friends realize how far from the main cities in Japan I lived, they would usually ask, why and I just have no other answer, but "I like it here."

Couchsurfing gives me a chance to meet people and have a good conversation about life in general. Also, it will be good to have company every now and then since I live alone and conversations with the locals can be very difficult due to language differences and lack of interest. HAHA.

Interests

Learning something new always amazes me. Listening to people's stories over a good cup of coffee and/or good food with their profound realizations is gold. We don't always have the courage to share a part of ourselves to others, so when it happens, it will always be a treasured story as one for the books.

Hmm..
I can teach you some Tagalog language and how to go around Manila and trekking areas in PH.
I can teach you some of the Japanese words and phrases I already know that help me survive living here.

I wanna learn a lot of stuff-- just teach me what you got. I'm always up for discovery.

I can share crazy stories but I am more of a listening ear. So, yeah, tell me your story and I would be happy to listen :)

Help you clean and do the laundry and fold clothes... LOL . (laundry is a stress-buster for me)
