I am a radio journalist. Learning how to tell great stories with sound, and sometimes photos and videos.

Sometimes a city mouse, sometimes a country mouse. I love to travel and share travel experiences with others. I also love a good story - to tell it or listen to one.

Gosh, I am interested in anyone that is excited about the world. I want to know why, and as a result could be quite happy talking to someone who is simply excited to learn and share their experiences with me. Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy reading books that are historically relevant to where I am travelling. So if you have recommendations, please send them my way.I also enjoy journalistic and travel writing. A few favorites include Confederates in the Attic and A Problem from Hell.I also enjoy books about science, nature and environmentalism from the perspective of science or a more philosophical bent.I love Russian literature - Brothers Karamazov, Anna Karenina, and Master and Margarita.I am usuall reading about 5 books at once in order to satisfy a particular mood at any one time. I am open to all sorts of genres. Currently I am reading a book about beekeeping in Kosovo and one about the Bosnian war from 1992 - 1995. I love music and singing. Lately I have been in to Folk music (Americana mostly), but am also interested in Indie, rock, r&b, classical, old-time jazz. I like music that shows skill and intention.I enjoy almost any kind of movie, but I like well made and thoughtful movies with good character development. Some favorites include Winters Bone, Amelie, The Right Stuff (I am a space nerd), In the Loop and Rushmore. I really dislike movies in the American genre like Knocked Up. It bores me and I don't find it all that funny at all.I love British comedy. I really like Absolutely Fabulous.
