Hello, currently going to Japan myself so i am not hosting any surfers!! :)

Hello, my name is Merel. My boyfriend and i just started this couchsurfing thing and both of us are really excited about it. Already we have so many requests and responses.
I work as a social worker in addiction care. I am an casemanager for homeless for the bigger part. Before this i worked in psychiatry. My boyfriend is a teacher (high school)
Also i am a buddhist and i practice the Nichiren buddhism. This means i chant (or are suppost to chant) twice a day, to get my focus straight and set goals for myself. I love talking about the diffrent kind of religions and philosophies :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I didnt know what a huge community this was before i started. Basicly we just wanted to save money going to Tokyo, but it soon became clear that this is offering so much more then money saving options. Its about sharing what you have and creating something new. I. Looking forward to all the people we are going to meet trough this network. I hope we can offer some people a place in Amsterdam and experiences to others and ourselves
